Not a good start to the year… Following on from yesterday’s news item on the seven puppies found in a bag — unfortunately one puppy passed away last night (31st) and the remaining one died early this morning. They were very weak when they came in to us — God only know how long they were […]

Kitten rejected on Christmas day
27th Dec 2018
Unfortunately, one of our volunteers ended up having to collect this kitten on Christmas night, an unwanted Christmas present. Seriously what do some humans have as brains? Why would you go out and get an animal who needs love and care for someone without checking with them first?

We learned today that, unfortunately, the Portlaoise GAA are planning to have a fundraiser at the greyhound track in Newbridge next week. Puppies are not Christmas presents!
3rd Nov 2018
The calls have started already. People have been calling us trying to book a kitten or puppy for Christmas. “Oh, can I pick it up on Christmas Eve?” No, our volunteers work hard enough during the year and deserve to have Christmas Eve to themselves to enjoy with their own animals and animals they are […]
