Complaints Policy

All complaints must be made in writing to the Secretary of the Laois SPCA, signed and submitted within 28 working days of the alleged incident. Anonymous complaints and complaints made by third parties will not be considered.

All complaints will be recorded at the time the complaint is received in writing.

The complaint will be acknowledged to the complainant.

The complaint will be discussed with the Cat Co-ordinator or Dog Co-ordinator as appropriate or with the Chairperson if the complaint is not regarding a cat or dog fosterer.

If there is a satisfactory outcome, both parties will be advised. If the complaint cannot be resolved by the above process, it will be referred to the Board of Directors and both parties will be informed.

The Directors may appoint an independent person if they so wish if the above process does not reach a satisfactory outcome.
