Buzz had a relatively comfortable night again last night. But today he is a little more withdrawn and seems slightly depressed too. His poor body is so weak from trying to fight the infection he has. Due to his wounds probably being a few days old by the time he got into Vet Care, infection has set in and run through his whole system. He is still eating well and sleepingĀ most of the time and is still receiving fluids, two sets of antibiotics and pain relief. He is in a critical condition, but stable. He needs to fight the infection that has taken over his little body. He is going to need surgery on one of his eyes, but again he is to weak for anesthetic. Katie Carr, one of the veterinarian nurses has spent hours looking after our little boy, washing his wounds twice daily, giving him his medication and just spending as much time with him as possible to reassure him. The nurses have bought baby socks for his hind legs as he has started to scratch himself, so this will prevent him from further damaging his wounds. We found out today that this little boy IS a little boy, he is only about 1 Ā½ years old, he is still a baby and this is the condition he is in, what has he gone through in his short life? It breaks our heart to see such a young dog going through this. We would like to thank everyone at Vet Care for everything they are doing for Buzz and for all the well wishes from everyone that has commented on his posts. We will keep you updated on his progress.
