Wild Baby Birds

Wild Birds!

5th Jul 2015

We are receiving many calls regarding baby birds that have fallen out of the nest. The advice given by “Irish Wildlife Matters” is to put the bird back in the nest if it can be reached but otherwise make a nest out of a box or margarine tub with holes pierced in the bottom and lined with dry grass or a tissue. Hang this from the branch of a tree but out of the sun. The mother bird will be around and when you go away she should return for the bird. Unfortunately we have no facilities for birds nor volunteers to collect them but if you need advice you could contact Raven Haven they may be able to help but they too are volunteers and cannot always be available.
